March 13, 2013-Flint, Michigan– MRSN has reached an agreement to broadcast the Professional Developmental Football League for the 2013 season. The league is based in Tacoma, Washington and will have 8 franchises across the US this season. The goal of the PDFL and MRSN is to have all games, including the championship game, broadcasted on MRSN in 2013. The goal of the PDFL, according to CEO and commissioner Theo Hall is “To bring affordable family entertainment to fans across the Nation; maximize revenue opportunities for individual franchises; deliver high impact visibility for corporate sponsors; Mentor and help advance our players, coaches, and staff; instill a sense of community pride using local talent; reach out to our local youth and to have honor in all we do.”  It is 11 on 11 football played under NFL rules. It is designed to give high caliber athletes and coaches a platform to display and improve their skills and pursue professional careers at the next level. The vision for the PDFL is to create a professional league based on integrity in everything they do. The league focus will be on giving former collegiate/professional athletes an avenue to continue to play competitive football with an ultimate goal of getting an opportunity to be invited to an NFL training camp. With the reality that making it into the NFL is so small, they also develop mentor programs for the players that focus on resume writing, interviewing, and networking. The league will also provide internships to players in their degree area in order to help them find future employment. The majority of players on PDFL teams have college football backgrounds playing previously at the D1, D2, or D3 level and have achieved their college degree or have actual experience playing for professional leagues like the NFL, CFL, and Indoor Football Leagues. This ensures a higher level of professionalism, competition, and dedication to the game.    Coverage starts May 4th as the Georgia Invaders host the Miami Xtreme live from Georgia.
