Utah Argonauts sign ex-Weber State defensive back Jarret Gooden
SALT LAKE CITY–
The Utah Argonauts have signed ex-Weber State defensive back Jarret Gooden for the 2013 season. Gooden is a triple threat and can play at defensive back and wide receiver in addition to returning punts. The 23-year-old, 175-pound player officially signed Monday, June 3 and will join the active roster.
“ Playing with the Argos is a great opportunity to get my foot in the door to play at the next level,” Gooden said. “I look at this as an opportunity to grow with a stepping stone organization to a higher level of football. I have been watching the Argos play and they have some real talent.”
Gooden was born in Fairfield, Calif. and played football at Benicia High School. While playing at Benicia, he tallied a team-best 1200 offensive yards and 10 touchdowns. Gooden also recorded 55 tackles and four interceptions while playing DB. As a returner, he compiled nearly 700 return yards and scored 5 touchdowns. READ MORE
